Kim LeMaitre to Lead Educational Programs at the Association of Community Cancer Centers
ROCKVILLE, Md.—The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) is pleased to announce that Kim LeMaitre, MA, has joined the staff as Director of Educational Services. She will manage ACCC's many educational products as well as identify topics and develop programs that increase value for ACCC members—the multidisciplinary cancer care team.
Ms. LeMaitre has extensive experience in developing community-based education programs, particularly in prostate, colorectal, and ovarian cancers. She was senior project manager at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pa., where she managed multiple grant funded projects, including the Pennsylvania Cancer Education Network. In this role, she managed programs taking place in more than half of the counties in Pennsylvania. She was also training manager for the Atlantic Region's Cancer Information Service, a program of the National Cancer institute, at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
"As the new Director of Educational Services, I'm looking forward to speaking directly to ACCC members to better understand their education needs," said Ms. LeMaitre. "My goal is to help ACCC achieve its strategic objective: to be an indispensable resource for knowledge exchange and education for its members. I'll combine my clinical knowledge in oncology with my experience in staff training to help the multidisciplinary cancer care team."/p>
"We are thrilled to have Kim join our team at such an exciting time. She will help bring innovation to ACCC's full range of educational programs, which provide community-based cancer care programs and oncology practices with the skills necessary to increase their efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality care," said Christian G. Downs, MHA, JD, ACCC's Executive Director. "Kim's extensive background affords ACCC the opportunity to benefit from her technical and clinical expertise in healthcare training."
Ms. LeMaitre received her master's degree in health education from Arcadia University. She is a member of the American Society for Training and Development and the Pennsylvania Distance Learning Association.
