Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital Cancer Care Center is approved by the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community program. The Center offers an array of services from cancer screening to diagnosis and treatment. The Cancer Care Center sees more than 1,800 new cancer patients each year and the cancer registry follows more than 8,000 cases in its database. A multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other oncology specialists provide comprehensive care for patients. These include inpatient medical and surgical care, an inpatient radiation oncology department as well as a free standing outpatient radiation center Pastoral Care and Social Services departments and a wide range of support groups offer emotional and spiritual care. Physical and occupational therapists work to rehabilitate patients during treatment. There is also a Lymphedema program, and the Center offers Palliative Care and Hospice programs to patients. A resource library is available to patients and families offering educational materials related to all aspects of care. The Cancer Care Center is committed to offering quality, state-of-the-art care to cancer patients so that they and their families may embrace hope for tomorrow.
