Henrico Doctors’ Hospital is a designated American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Comprehensive Cancer Program with over 13,000 outpatients a year. Henrico Doctors’ Hospital is one of three cancer programs working collaboratively in the Richmond HCA Market. The Richmond HCA Market is recognized for its comprehensive Breast Care Network offering women in a 50-mile radius, 9 locations for mammography along with expedited diagnostic imaging and results. The Richmond HCA Market cares for half of all patients diagnosed with cancer. Henrico Doctors’ Hospital received the ACoS Outstanding Achievement Award in 2008, recognized for its specialized care and was the 38th in the country to have its Breast Center nationally accredited by the NAPBC. Cancer care at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital begins with inpatient medical and surgical oncology units, two dedicated DaVinci Robots, two dedicated outpatient infusion services, radiation oncology, hospice care and clinical research protocols. The cancer registry follows more than 6,300 cases. Comprehensive Breast, Lung and GI oncology programs with corresponding disease clinics support patients and families across the disease continuums with care coordinated by Oncology Advanced Practice Nurses. The Disease specific clinics offer patients multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment planning from the moment of diagnosis forward.
