The Sentara Cancer Program at SNGH is a program accredited as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons. We provide a comprehensive range of cancer diagnostic, treatment and support services for people who have cancer and their families. Our dedicated clincal areas include an 18-bed inpatient medical/surgical oncology unit, two Radiation Oncology centers (1 hospital based and 1 free standing center in joint partnership with Virginia Oncology Associates), and an outpatient Infusion Center. Patients have access to clinical research trials for which they may qualify. Our Cancer Resource Center provides access to cancer information, classes and support group and also assists in connecting people with other cancer resources within the community. Cancer Registry services provide quality monitoring of treatment provided within our hospital, accessioning 1600 new cases annually. Medical leadership is provided by Dr. J. Trad Wadsworth, Chairman of the Cancer Committee.
