Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is expanding inpatient oncology services and is seeking a board-certified/board eligible hematologist/oncologist to join our team. Supported by our outpatient Cancer Institute this inpatient oncologist position will be based out of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. You will be working in conjunction with the patient's primary oncologist managing day-to-day issues of hospitalized patients. This position will be supported with an inpatient midlevel provider and will be joining an experienced and established outpatient team of (11) medical oncologists, (4) radiation oncologists, (3) pediatric oncologists and, (11) Nurse practitioners at the state-of-the-art Lafayette Family Cancer Institute.

The Lafayette Family Cancer Institute, dedicated in 2009, is located approximately 3 miles from the main Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center campus, and is one of only two cancer centers in Maine to be a part of a formal collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Care Collaborative, having access to over (55) adult oncology clinical trials. The Dana-Farber Cancer Care Collaborative includes a select group of hospitals that have demonstrated a commitment to excellence by meeting a wide range of standards and best practices in adult medical and/or radiation oncology. The purpose of the Dana-Farber Collaborative membership is to enhance educational opportunities for member hospitals’ clinicians, enhance quality and patient-centered care, offer opportunities to consult with medical specialists at Dana-Farber in Boston, and provide expedited access to Dana-Farber for patients with complex cancers.
