Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Manager Patient Care Services- Registered Nurse for the Medical Oncology and Infusion Center. This a full time, day shift position in Charlottesville, VA, Monday to Friday, no nights or weekends.
Sentara Martha Jefferson Infusion Center
The Sentara Martha Jefferson Infusion Center offers a pleasant, professional atmosphere where patients can receive intravenous infusions and therapeutic injections. Our oncology-certified nurses are trained to administer chemotherapy, biological therapies or supportive blood transfusions for cancer, as well as various infusions for non-cancer patients. OCN certified nurses in both the Infusion Center and Medical oncology clinic. Infusion center has 25 chairs 14,000 provider visits per year 17,000 infusion visits per year- both oncology and non-oncology.
This area has an average of 30 direct reports including the following roles directly and indirectly through the Team Coordinator:
- RN's (Infusion and Clinic)
- Front Office Team members
- Case managers
- Financial Counselor
- Triage Nurses
- 5 Physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Practitioners (APPs)

Responsibilities:
- The Manager Patient Care Services-RN for the Medical Oncology and Infusion Center is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas.
- Models and leads professional practices consistent with organizational goals of safety, customer satisfaction and quality for the area of expertise.
- Supervises staff, provides clinical/ technical expertise and engages in process improvements.
- Assists in the fiscal budgeting and management process for the department including billing/revenue management, payroll, purchasing and supply cost management.
- Performs work assignments as needed to provide coverage and to mentor or assist staff.
- Interviews, hires and develops team members with the goal of developing a highly effective work team.
- Engages in talent retention strategies for the area(s) of responsibility.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Level Degree- Nursing- BSN required MSN Preferred
- 3 years of Healthcare management Experience
- 3 years of Clinical Experience
- Registered nursing License required
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Clinical experience within Medical Oncology and/or Infusion areas preferred.
- Experience in Ambulatory Clinic Management areas preferred
- Preferred Nationally recognized certifications: Or Similar certification areas.
- CNL (Clinical Nurse Leader) or CMNL (Nurse Manager and Leader) CON- Certified Oncology Nurse
- CNE Certified Nurse Educator
