ACCC Impact Report Wins Top Award

Excel-Award-400x300 WASHINGTON, DC — The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) today received a 2022 AM&P Network EXCEL award for its 2020 Impact Report by the Software & Information Industry Association; The Report was awarded second place in the Promotional Content, Special Reports category. The annual EXCEL Awards are the largest and most prestigious program recognizing excellence and leadership in association media, publishing, marketing, and communication.

ACCC’s Impact Report is an annual evaluation of the organization’s latest efforts in clinical research, staff well-being, health equity, cancer screening and prevention, multidisciplinary education, advocacy, and the future state of cancer care. The report outlines strategies and provides resources for healthcare professionals and cancer programs to implement patient-centered care and advance diversity, equity and accessibility in cancer care and research.

“This Impact Report is unique in that it gave us an opportunity to review the effect of COVID-19 on the cancer care community and craft a road map to improve patient and clinical outcomes,” said David R. Penberthy, MD, MBA, ACCC’s president. “It also gives providers a tangible resource to implementing patient-centered care techniques to reduce health disparities and improve efficiency of care at the macro level.”

The Excel Award winners were recognized on Tuesday, June 22, 2022, during a special ceremony at the National Housing Center in Washington, DC. The winners were chosen from a pool of more than 600 applicants, carefully selected through a two-stage evaluation process by a panel of more than 100 peer judges.

The ACCC Impact Report was designed in collaboration with GRAPHEK, a cause-driven creative agency that develops custom solutions to propel positive change for associations and non-profits.
