About the Award
An important part of the Wisconsin Association of Hematology & Oncology’s mission is to demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting the educational needs of multidisciplinary cancer care team members, including allied health professionals, who are vital to the delivery of high-quality patient care across Wisconsin.
We are pleased to announce the new WAHO Allied Health Professionals Award, a monetary award created to support the professional development of WAHO allied health professional members, including Associate Members, Advanced Practice Professionals, or Registered Nurses.
Applications for this award are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Once an application is submitted, the WAHO Board of Directors will review the application and decide whether or not the applicant is selected to an award up to $1,500. This award is intended to support the earning or renewal of an oncology certification, or the attendance to an official meeting of a national oncology, hematology, or cancer-related organization. Such organizations may include—but are not limited to—the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH), Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), Wisconsin Association of Hematology & Oncology (WAHO), and the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
