A Unique Approach to At-Home Care for Cancer Patients

New ACCC Cancer Program Member Huntsman Cancer Institute announced the launch of its "Huntsman at Home" service in mid-December. Through this new service, patients with appropriate referrals will be visited at their home by a member of the Huntsman at Home care team, which includes doctors, nurse practitioners, and specialists to provide ongoing monitoring of symptoms. By providing follow-up care at home instead of in the hospital, Huntsman decreases hospital admission length, relieves patient stress, and provides high-quality care.
