Aims & Scope

Oncology Issues is the official journal of the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC). As one of the only non-clinical, operational journals covering cancer, Oncology Issues provides “how-to” articles for the entire multidisciplinary oncology care team, on a wide range of topics, including:

• Hospital- and practice-based operational, financial, and strategic planning
• Quality & performance improvement initiatives
• Staffing models, recruitment and retention efforts, and succession planning
• Developing a comprehensive cancer service line, including supportive care and ancillary services
• Population-based healthcare initiatives
• Care delivery models and alternative payment models
• Precision medicine and molecular and genomic testing
• Health equity efforts to address at-risk and disparate patient populations
• Community outreach and education
• Screening and prevention programs
• Clinical research in the community setting
• Improving patient engagement and the patient experience
• Implementation of new technologies and treatments

Journal content addresses issues of interest to all members of the multidisciplinary cancer care team, including medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, APPs, cancer program administrators, medical directors, senior hospital executives, practice managers, pharmacists, oncology nurses, radiation therapists, social workers, nurse and lay navigators, revenue cycle managers, financial navigators, cancer program data managers, coders and billers, and more.

Oncology Issues receives all manuscript submissions electronically via its Editorial Manager site located at editorialmanager.com/oncologyissues. Editorial Manager allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, and facilitates the review process and internal communication between authors, editors, and reviewers via a web-based platform.
